If you do have and want to activate Pro Plus you will first have to uninstall , then do an Office Repair of Pro Plus, boot the computer and finally activate the Pro Plus again with the product key. I did not download or install anything. Any activation code I find doesn't work so I do not have the a code to activate it.

But there are various versions of Office , and you don't say what exactly you purchased, Office wise or what you installed. Or if you logon to the MS Account used when you purchased or installed Office, what is shown there for the product version?
Where did you find this "activation code"? If it is on a sticker on the bottom of the computer, look again, it is almost certainly for Windows. Is it 25 characters, written in 5 groups of 5 char? Office Pro Plus does NOT come installed from the factory, so someone had to buy or trial download it and install it at some point.

Yes, that is exactly what I have been trying to tell you. It is known as "crapware". As in I made an image copy backup so I don't have to go through that pain again. So unless you physically purchased an Office version you don't have one, except a trial or illegal version. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.
